Minotaur

Minotaur is a monster in Greek mythology. Minotaur have ahead of a bull and a body of a human.

His mother is Pasiphaë who is the Queen of Crete. Crete is anisland in Greece. Pasiphaë is wife of Minos who is the king. King Minosborrowed a snow white bull from Poseidon. A bull is a male cow. Poseidon is agod of sea. But, King Minos didn't return the beautiful bull to Poseidon.Poseidon got angry and took revenge.

Poseidon made Pasiphaë love the bull. She dressed like a cow.And, Pasiphaë was loved by the bull. So, Pasiphaë had a baby. This baby isMinotaur. He is half human and half bull.

King Minos shut Minotaur in a labyrinth. Name of thelabyrinth is Labyrintos. Labyrintos is an etymon of labyrinth. The English word''labyrinth'' comes from ancient Greece. King Minos gave food to Minotaur. Thefood is young Athens. Minotaur ate humans.

One day, Athenian Prince Theseus was mixed in scapegoats forMinotaur. Theseus was loved by Ariadne who is a princess of Crete. Ariadne is ahalf-sister by a different father for Minotaur. Ariadne gave yarn and a knifeto Theseus. So, he killed Minotaur by the knife. And, he was able to go backfrom labyrinth because he used yarn. I think Theseus is like Hänsel in ''Hänselund Gretel.''

Minotaur is a born monster. And, he ate human as King Minosgave. Minotaur is a villain. He deserved to be killed. However, some scholarsthink that Minotaur is the remains of old faith before Greek mythology. If thisopinion is the truth, I feel that Minotaur is pitiful. Because Minotaur madeevil monster by Greek mythology. He might have been believed as a god.
